Rough Country 2-Inch Leveling Kit
Starting things off on this F-150, we added one of Rough Country’s 2-Inch leveling kits. This addition allows for the F-150 to sit level, while also adding a tiny bit of ground clearance.
Ford ships the F-150 with a healthy amount of positive rake from the factory. Rake is basically the look when the rear end of a vehicle sits slightly higher than the rear. This is usually done so when drivers add weight to the bed, the truck won’t squat.
If you’re not doing a ton of heavy hauling though, this can leave your truck with an undesired look. If you like the raked appearance that’s okay too!
Powder Coated Wheels
Just beneath the leveling kit is a set of powder coated wheels The 2018 F-150 ships with some pretty spicy wheels so we decided to keep em’. Featuring a multi spoke design with aggressive angles, these wheels are prime candidates for powder coat.
Powder coating is a great way to get the look you want, without putting your wallet on life support. There’s nearly an endless selection of colors so you’re guaranteed to find something that will suit your build.
Emblems & Badges
For some additional flare for this F-150 Ecobeast, we added some red accented emblems and badges. We replaced the Ford blue badges on the grille and tailgate with gloss black badges. This is a small addition that can really make or break a build.
In addition to the Ford badges, we also replaced the side “Ecoboost,” emblems with black and red accented “Ecobeast,” emblems. These complement the rest of the red accents on this F-150 build and are a great DIY installation!
Tailgate Letter Inserts
The F-150 comes with stamped letters into the tailgate in body color paint. This look is all too common with truck manufacturers these days, but we’ve got a solution for the boring tailgate conundrum.
We slapped on some black and red letter inserts for this F-150 tailgate. Letter inserts are an easy way to change the look of your ride that’s easy on your wallet, and installation. There’s several tailgate letter inserts for the F-150 so it’s important to make sure you get a set specifically made to fit your model year.
3M FX Premium Tint
3M FX Premium Window Tint helps to give this truck a complete blackout look. Backed with 50+ years of experience and a lifetime warranty, 3M is the only brand of tint we trust. Heat reduction, cool factor, increased privacy, and glare reduction are just a couple of the key benefits of window tint!
Katzkin Leather Seats
The seats in this F-150 got the Katzkin Premium leather treatment. We opted for black leather with white stitching for some contrast. We also considered going for red stitching for that extra pop. The diamond pleating, we added definitely adds some extra flare though.
Most people think the only way they can get leather seating is from the factory. We partner with Katzkin because of their factory match leather, as well as their premium custom leather options.
Painted Calipers
To keep the black and red appearance of this F-150 moving along, we added a coat of gloss red paint to brake calipers. Painted calipers are a cheap way to give your ride some additional accent coloring.
When painting calipers it’s important to use a heat resistant paint. Since your brakes are exposed to high heat, debris, and road grime, using improper paint can result in an undesired look over time.
Potential Add-Ons
One addition that could’ve enhanced the experience of this F-150 would be Weathertech Floor Liners. Weathertech’s Floor Liners are molded to fit perfectly in your vehicle and keep the interior clean. As a bonus, the red on the Weathertech logo could’ve been a cheeky red accent to our all-black interior!
