2021+ GMC Yukon Denali Gloss Black Grille Package
$1,495.00
Large and in-charge luxury is what you get with the GMC Yukon Denali. We wanted to tailor that luxury into a custom look and feel. To do that we gave this midnight blue Yukon all-new chrome delete trim and bold blackout emblems along with a subtle pop of color on the calipers. You can checkout each of these upgrades more closely as you continue the article.
Black Powder Coated Wheels
To kick off our chrome delete we altered the factory wheels. Stock GMC wheels on the 2023 Yukon Denali look pretty good with their hefty and elite design, but the chrome is a no go. Instead, we took the wheels to our inhouse powder coat booth and covered them in a gloss black finish. Applying a powder coat finish to your wheels is a good alternative to buying a completely new wheel design.
Powder coat finishes are a simple way to customize the color of your wheels and enhance their durability. It’s sturdy finish resists chipping from debris and forms a layer of protection against chemical damage. This coating can also be used on parts like tow-hooks or exhaust tips to further personalize your vehicle.
Orange Painted Calipers
Along with the powder coat wheels comes our favorite spot to add a hint of color, the brake calipers. For this build we chose a bright orange painted brake caliper that contrasts with the dark blue. Using a vibrant color like red, orange, and yellow on the calipers denotes a certain quality of performance. You can paint your calipers just about any color you want pink, blue, or green are other popular colors. Having your calipers painted is a great way to personalize your ride!
When painting calipers, it is very important to use a durable and heat resistant paint. Calipers take a ton of abuse from the road with gravel, dirt, water, and chemicals so the extra barrier of strong paint adds protection along with style.
Blackout Emblems and Badges
You can do a chrome delete build with the original GMC badges, but the blackout ones create a more serious look. Each of these emblems and nameplates got swapped for blackout versions that complement the deep dark blue of the body paint. By customizing the factory emblems, you make the car more your own rather than the manufacturers.
New black emblems from front to back look sleek and sophisticated against the midnight blue. The black rear emblem along with the Denali and Yukon nameplates become less of a distraction to the cars design and now have a subdued classy appeal.
Chrome Delete
Since GMC Yukon’s are loaded with chrome, there’s a lot of parts to be treated. The largest portion of chrome is on the grille which can be tricky for some shops modify. We replace this giant chrome piece with our custom blackout replacement grille. Once this piece is deleted it drastically changes the aesthetic of the vehicle.
Other blackout Yukon parts on the front end like the front bumper trim, fog light bezel, and mirror accents are next to be altered.
As we start to move toward the rear, the fender vent accents are painted gloss black while the orange side markers are smoked. Smoking emblems or taillights darkens them using a tinted clear coat. This look can also be achieved with a tinted film though the smoking method tends to hold up longer.
Roof rails get removed from the top of the vehicle and powder coated black since they are a fully metal part on the 2023 Yukon. They’re followed by slim and delicate window trim which can be difficult to work with at times. The skilled technicians at VIP Auto Accessories have ton of experience working with it though given the number of blackouts they’ve done. Pieces beneath the windows include the door handles and lower body molds are next up to be deleted.
Otherwise, trim like the exhaust tips, rear bumper trim, and rear hatch valance on the back are some of the last bits of chrome that needs to go. Once they’re taken care of this custom Yukon Denali becomes a full chrome delete SUV.
Light-Up GMC Emblem
Illuminated GMC grille emblems are an exciting accessory to add since they really pop at night. Light up emblems like this one stand out even more on blackout or chrome delete builds since they’re darker. These bright glowing GMC emblems make a strong statement piece that many other custom GMC Yukon’s wish they had.
Ceramic Coating
In order to keep this chrome delete GMC Yukon in top shape we applied a ceramic coating. Our Ceramic Solutions formula bonds to paint forming a chemical bond that helps to repel dirt and grime while resisting chemical damage. These coatings are perfect because they make your car super easy to clean, so it takes less effort to clean off your ride!
Window Tint
The last accessory installed on this Yukon helps to increase its interior protection and style. 3M window tint has the benefit of solar energy rejection. This helps keep your interior cooler during hot summer months and protect plastics in the dash from sun fading over time. As you can imagine any reduction of heat is very important for blackout vehicles. Not to mention the classic allure window tint creates for your ride changing its demeanor!
Tint is a solid appearance upgrade to make on any vehicle, but it’s important to know that not all tint is made equal. We only use 3M tint because of their benefits over competing brands. We wrote a whole article about the benefits of 3M tint to help you learn more before making your decision.
Tints are offered from 5% to 70% with the lower numbers being darker. The % measures VLT (Visual Light Transference) which quantifies how much light comes through the film. When you go to select your tint, you need to keep in mind your local laws, so that you don’t get ticketed. We always recommend a professional install for this modification. Poor tint jobs will bubble and discolor over time. Make sure your window tint installer has a good warranty to protect your investment!
