Building a blackout Yukon Denali creates a powerful presence, but when you throw in a lift and huge 35-inch tires it raises things to a whole new level. For this client we set out to make their 2024 GMC Yukon Denali big, tall, and bad to the bone. Read on to see the accessories we used to make it happen.

3-Inch Lift Kit
To boost this build we installed a specially designed 3-inch Lift Kit. It’s the perfect lift kit for installing a larger tire and rim set-up if you want a substantially taller appearance. It does so without sacrificing the smooth factory ride and handling either. Lifting the Yukon Denali can get pretty tricky with its magnetic ride control and unique adjustable suspension, but the lift kit we use is the perfect solution.
Custom Vossen Rims
After getting the new lift properly hooked up we have the space to put on an all-new rim and tire combo. For this classy blackout our client selected the Vossen HF6-5 wheel design with long elegant spokes. These gloss black wheels add class and feed into the luxury look of this build.
If custom wheels are outside what you’d like to spend there’s another option for your blackout! Applying a powder coat finish to your current wheel design allows you to customize their color while reinforcing their durability. This coating can also be used on metal parts like tow-hooks or exhaust tips to further personalize your vehicle!
Blue Painted Calipers
Sticking out between the design of those sleek Vossen rims you can spot another custom detail. Our client chose to add a pop of color with dark blue painted brake calipers. This modification helps to prevent corrosion while adding some personal styling. You can customize the calipers on your ride by painting them in a variety of different colors.
35-Inch Offroad Tires
With this big blackout Yukon Denali heading back up to Minnesota we knew it needed a set of capable tires to traverse different terrains. We installed 35×12.50R24 Nitto Recon Grappler AT tires to give this custom Yukon the right blend of performance. To accommodate large 35″ tires we have to work a little bit of extra magic along with the lift.
Chrome Delete Trim Kit
Once the bigger Yukon Denali accessories and and mods were out of the way we got to work on the Chrome delete. Our chrome delete treatment for this lifted Yukon starts by exchanging the massive chrome on the front for our blackout grille. This gets rid of a lot of chrome fast and already starts to change the look of this SUV.
After the grille comes blackout parts for the front bumper trim, fog light bezel, and mirror accents. These pieces help to wipeout all chrome on the front end of this build taking it closer to that pitch black look.
Next up we swap out the fender vent accents and smoke the orange side markers. Smoking the side markers is a process of applying a permanent tinted clear coat to darken them. We like to leave a little bit of that safety orange, but make it match the builds presence.
Parts of the chrome trim can sometimes be difficult to change out. For instance, roof rails require dropping the interior headliner to remove them. Other areas such as the window trim are thin and delicate, so they require more finesse to reinstall without damage. Below the windows you can find new black door handles and lower body moldings at the bottom of the doors.
Finishing out our blackout on the tailgate you’ll find new rear bumper trim and a rear hatch valance. Our talented team of technicians have this chrome delete service down to a science having taken care of 100’s of blackout builds on all different models. After these final pieces come together there’s one last modification to the branding to take care of.
Blackout GMC Yukon Emblems
You probably noticed the GMC emblems and nameplate badges are also completely blacked out. If not then this lifted Yukon Denali is keeping a low profile. The grille features a large black GMC emblem in the center while the tailgate has smaller black branded details. Chrome delete GMC emblems help to finalize the blackout trim styling.
Window Tint
Installing window tint was a must have for this build. Not only does it finish off the blackout look, but its also keeps the car from getting too hot. 3M window tint film has solar energy rejection properties. This helps keep your interior cooler during hot summer months and protect plastics in the dash from sun fading over time. Window tint is also recommended by the skin cancer foundation to keep your skin protected from UV rays.
Tints are offered from 5% to 70% with the lower numbers being darker. The percentage measures VLT (Visual Light Transference) which quantifies how much light comes through the film.
When you go to select your tint, you need to keep in mind your local laws, so that you don’t get a ticket for having too dark of windows. We always recommend a professional install for this modification. Poor tint jobs will bubble and discolor over time. Check to make sure your window tint installer has a good warranty!
Ceramic Coating
To polish things off we applied a ceramic coating to this custom Yukon Denali build. Our Ceramic Solutions formula forms a chemical bond with factory paint that resists the build-up of dirt, grime, and chemicals that can damage the paint. This is even more valuable on all black cars which can show road dust a bit easier.
The best thing about a ceramic coating is you just wash your car as normal! Having a Ceramic Solutions coating allows you to spend less effort cleaning your ride.
