We’ve customized the GMC Yukon Denali in a ton of different ways, but this one sneaks into our collection of favorites! Our client chose to build a Yukon Denali with an athletic appearance and controlled handling.

MaxTrac Lowering Kit
Lowering a vehicle is mostly done for the appearance, but if it’s done properly your vehicle can have increased handling on the road. It can lower the center of gravity and enhance cornering ability. Keep in mind that this will reduce the ground clearance though. Once this Yukon was lowered, we noticed the positive difference in ride quality.
Vinyl Wrap
Vinyl wraps remain an excellent and affordable way to change the whole look of your ride. For this Yukon you can see a Satin Basalt Gray vinyl wrap from Avery Dennison. The wrap’s color and finish create a precise machined steel appearance.
Our wrap even extends over the door handles and body side molding to cover their chrome accents. This causes these parts to blend in with the side panels to stand out less.
While vinyl wraps offer a flexible way to get the color you want, they also protect your vehicle’s paint. Having a layer above the paint keeps road grime and other debris from coming in direct contact with it.

Installing The Chrome Delete Trim
On the 2026 GMC Yukon’s, the exterior remains similar to the previous model year. Let’s dive into the key chrome delete parts for the 2026 GMC Yukon and take a look at the before and after differences.
Beginning on the front end and moving toward the tailgate we removed old chrome features piece by piece. Right away the custom 2026 Yukon blackout grille creates a world of difference. This grille is fully black unlike the tinted Vader Chrome grilles found on the higher Denali trim levels. The grille’s darker coloring blends into the front end, so it’s not weighed down by all that chrome.
Underneath the grille is the full length blackout fog bezel molding and front bumper trim. These parts sit close to each other and don’t add much to the styling of the vehicle. With their blackout replacements they bring a more cohesive look to the front bumper area.
As we start to move to the side there is a set of smoked side markers by the front wheels. Side markers are bright orange, but by applying a light tinted clear coat they can be dulled to fit the blackout styling. They still shine orange light through for night time driving. The tinted clear coat on this part prevents any chance of peeling, and provides more durability which lasts the life of the vehicle.
The windows are outlined with blackout window trim to erase the L-shaped chrome accents. This addition pairs perfectly with tinted windows. Above the windows we have new black roof rails.
At the trunk the last bit of chrome to be eliminated is on the rear bumper trim and exhaust tips. Exhaust tips are completely optional of course, but the added touch makes the blackout feel more complete and professional. Durable black powder coat finish keeps them protected from rust and scrapes as well.
Blackout Emblems and Badges
Black GMC emblems and badging drive the new blackout look home. When you alter the original emblems it creates something more distinct that feels more like your own. New blackout emblems are found on the fender vent accents and grille. The rest of the badging on this build was removed for a more streamlined appearance.
Custom Vossen Rims
With all the added black trim the chrome wheels needed to swapped out. To better fit the upscale sporty look we were going for with this chrome delete GMC Yukon Denali we chose the gloss black Vossen HF6-4 wheel design. The open wheel design seems to lighten the feel of this lowered Yukon. Hinting at its new found agility.
If you’re not looking to spend extra for custom wheels then a powder coat finish is the perfect option. It allows you to keep your current wheel design while customizing the color and reinforcing their durability. This coating can also be used on metal parts like tow-hooks or exhaust tips to further personalize your vehicle!
Red Painted Calipers
Tucked away behind the Vossen rims you’ll spot painted brake calipers. This modification adds a pop of color and can create a sense of high performance. It also helps prevent corrosion while adding some personal style points. You can customize the calipers on your ride by choosing from a wide variety of colors.
Street Tires
This Yukon is not getting driven offroad unlike our recent 2026 Yukon AT4 build. We changed up the tires to better fit this Yukon. Toyo Proxes STIII Tires 285/ 40R24 for sporty street oriented performance.
Window Tint
Our last accessory addition was tried and true window tint. Tinted windows are one of the best accesories for any vehicle, but on chrome delete builds they drive home that mysterious alluring aesthetic and blend in with the blackout window molding. Tint provides benefits like privacy, UV light rejection, and heat rejection.
It’s important to know that not all tint is made equal! We use 3M tint because of their benefits over competing brands. We wrote a whole article about the benefits of 3M tint to help you learn more before making your decision.
Tints are offered from 5% to 70% with the lower numbers being darker. Most folks opt for around a 30% tint. The % measures VLT (Visual Light Transference) which quantifies how much light comes through the film. When you go to select your tint, you need to keep in mind your local laws, so that you don’t get ticketed.
We always recommend a professional install for this modification. Poor tint jobs will bubble and discolor over time. Make sure your window tint installer has a good warranty to protect your investment!
