The 2022 Kia EV6 is Kia’s first all electric vehicle (of what will likely be many). It’s a sleek and modern mid-size SUV that stays true to Kia’s signature style. We were excited to finally get our hands on one to customize!
Adapting this EV6’s look into something more detailed and streamlined was a cinch. Giving it features like a roof wrap, rocker panel graphics, and blacking out its emblems with overlays added a distinct character. Our focus then turned to protecting this new electric vehicle’s exterior for years to come, so we applied PPF and a ceramic coating. Lets take a closer look at all the modifications and upgrades we made!

Roof Wrap
Roof wraps make great upgrades to SUVs, and are yet to be popularized on electric vehicles. This EV6 got a rich gloss black roof wrap to complement its bright and vibrant yellow base. Having a roof wrap gives a slim and compressed look to the vehicle which fits the EV6’s modern styling.
Eyebrow & Window Tint
The newly added black roof wrap created a great opportunity to apply window and eyebrow tints. An eyebrow tint shades the top section of windshield which darkens the glass and stretches out the black toward the front-end. This shields the driver and passengers field of vision from the sun resulting in better comfort and awareness. Whereas the regular window tint creates darker glass along the sides that further complement the roof wrap. In essence using these mods creates a sleek, protected, and private appeal to the vehicle.
For those who like the specifics we used 3M premium tint film to apply a 35% tint on the front, and 20% tint across the rear windows. Window tints help block harmful UV rays that can damage the interior of the car, your skin, or your belongings if exposed for long periods of time. They are an affordable and beneficial modification to make on any vehicle.
When you go to select your tint you need to keep in mind your local laws, so that you don’t get ticketed. We always recommend a professional install for this modification. Poor tint jobs will bubble and discolor over time. Make sure your window tint installer has a good warranty to protect your investment!
Blackout Kia Vinyl Overlays
To match the other black accent features of this build a set of black kia overlays were applied wiping out the chrome. Though many think of chrome as futuristic it’s been on cars for decades, and more modern car’s have shifted to black accents. Black emblems, like these new Kia emblems, pair well with other paint colors while delivering a more sophisticated look.
Rocker Panel Graphic
With the EV6 being a new car there aren’t as many aftermarket accessories available yet. That’s what we’re trying to fix with this futuristic EV6 rocker panel graphic. These rocker panels impart a touch of design to the vehicles outward appearance and aid this custom EV6’s new look. The geometric design on the rocker panels was intended to complement the stylistic elements on the interior and by the tail lights bringing the vehicle’s concept one step further.
Paint Protection Film & Full Vehicle Ceramic Coating
Paint is the first line of defense in preventing rust on your vehicle. Chipped paint can lead to costly fixes later on down the road, so using a protective film is important for longevity. PPF is commonly applied to areas of high impact such as the front bumper, grille, and hood. Having this protective film over your paint keeps it from chipping and saves the vehicle’s value over time. Using these mods can help improve the vehicle’s look for years extending its life on the road.
For more peace of mind, and an easy clean, a ceramic coating could be applied over the paint after the PPF is applied. Ceramic coating is another protective layer to prevent dirt build up while deflecting debris and water.
Painted Calipers
If you look with care you’ll notice a hidden set of black painted calipers behind the wheels. The EV6’s inventive 20″ wheel design only leaves a small peak behind to see this feature, but it’s another level of detail. Painted calipers provide protection because their high grade paint withstands friction and debris while reducing rust and damage from the abuse calipers take out on the road.
We also recommend using a ceramic coating on your calipers. Ceramic coating solutions are used again as a layer of protection, but they also reduce the build up of brake dust and grime. The ceramic coat makes any debris that does stick to your caliper super easy to clean off.
