2021 Toyota Sequoia TRD Pro – Offroad Build

Taking the Sequoia TRD Pro to the next level requires a bit of creativity... and tires.

The Sequoia hasn’t changed much since 2008, but this off road variant keeps things looking fresher. The TRD Pro model comes with some nice features and cosmetic changes from the factory. 18-in black alloy wheels, black cast running boards, and a matching roof rack are just a few of the highlights. This model also unlocks the unique Lunar Rock color for the exterior.

Most interesting in my opinion is the Rigid LED cubes for fog lights. We didn’t touch them–this Sequoia ships with these aftermarket puppies installed. Even with all these addons it brings to the table, there’s still much more we can do to help it break the mold.

Ceramic Coating Powder Coated Exhaust Tip
3M Paint Protection Film WeatherTech Floor Liners & Cargo Mat

Trail Country Tires

We upgraded the tires to the more capable Dick Cepek Trail Country EXP. This hybrid design works as both a mud and all terrain tire. This rubber has a history dating back to the 1960s, when off road hall-of-famer Dick Cepek started his tire business.

Lift Kit

The TRD Pro model doesn’t actually include a suspension lift. So that is something you’ll need to seek out. We planned to use the Readylift 3-inch kit, but it is incompatible with the TRD Pro. A great alternative is the Sequoia Fox lift from Westcott Designs. It’s not dramatic, but it gives you 1.5 inches of lift in the front and 1 inch in the rear. That allows you to run up to a 33 inch tire without rubbing.

FloorLiners

We added Weathertech FloorLiners in the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd rows. These provide a much higher level of protection vs the factory mats. They are laser measured to fit the interior contours of the Sequoia.

We also included a cargo liner to keep messes out of the trunk too.

3M FX Premium Tint

We increased cabin privacy and comfort with automotive window film from 3M.

We recently became the exclusive 3M Pro Shop Dealer for the St. Louis region. We’re very impressed with their FX Premium and Ceramic IR series films’ effectiveness. We used the 3M FX Premium Series film on this build.

Paint Protection Film (PPF)

We applied our High Impact PPF package on this build. It includes full coverage on the bumper and mirror, and a partial hood and fender application.

We use 3M Scotchgard Pro. It’s virtually invisible and protects your paint from scratches, chips, and stains. The self-healing technology also allows minor scratches to disappear.

Ceramic Coating

Our Ceramic Solutions service applies a 5-year coating to the exterior of the vehicle. This coating covers the exterior, creating a barrier that allows dirt and grime to be easily washed away. Our treatment also gives you a warranty for 5 years against nature’s destructive elements. This applied on top of the paint protection film so you have even protection across the vehicle.
