Exterior Modifications
The first exterior mod you’ll probably notice is the hood. We started by covering it in matte black premium cast wrapping film. This is where we normally stop, but we wanted to do something extra.
Since this Tacoma has red interior accents we thought it was fitting to add a matching stripe. We installed a red Berlin stripe on top of the hood wrap using Matte Red Brown Metallic vinyl (also used in our recent Challenger build).
The Toyota Tacoma mods don’t stop there. We blacked out the nameplates with Toyota overlays, and darkened the windows with Suntek Carbon Series window film. We also improved driving visibility and style with an LED headlight upgrade. The truck already had factory running boards and a tonneau cover, so we didn’t have to touch those.
Lift Kit
We gave this 2020 Tacoma a 2 inch suspension lift from Toytec. It features Eibach PRO-TRUCK sport shocks in the front and Toytec BOSS shocks in the rear.
Lifts remove ugly factory rake in your truck while increasing wheel-well and ground clearance. Anyone can enjoy the style and performance boost a lift kit provides.
Wheels & Tires
We tried out the Kicker 6, one of Fuel Offroad’s new 2020 wheels, on this build. The 1-piece wheel features a 6-spoke design with beadlock styling. We used matte black, but it’s also available with a bronze or anthracite center as well.
We chose the 17×9 sizing and wrapped them in Toyo rubber–Open Country A/T II to be exact. They come with excellent treadlife and a warranty of up to 65,000 miles.
