WRX fans know this sporty rally car was made to be tweaked. We wanted to improve the style of this red base model 2023 Subaru WRX into something that rally Daredevils would really enjoy.
This custom WRX was enhanced with chrome delete emblems, a roof wrap, powder coat wheels, and tint to top it off. From bumper to bumper this restyled WRX transformed into a black and red speed demon sedan.

Satin Black Roof and Pillar Wrap
Starting off this build we’ll take a look at its smooth satin black roof and pillar wrap. Roof wraps that extend down the pillars are a great upgrade because they help add depth to the design of the body. Wrapping the roof of your WRX this way will make the top half appear more compressed and streamlined. Altering this exterior feature allows the car to have a sportier and more athletic look.
You can also do a roof wrap that doesn’t extend down the pillars if you wanted a bit of detail without altering the appearance as much. Another benefit to roof wraps is they are cheaper than a full vehicle wrap. Partial and full wraps in general are all temporary allowing you to swap styles whenever you want without damaging your car or its resale value.
Chrome Delete Emblems
Factory WRXs come with chrome emblems and badges like almost every other car on the road. If your tired of chintzy chrome accents, we can relate. Almost all of our custom builds feature some kind of chrome delete element to them.
On this chrome delete WRX we painted all the badging and nameplates black. Other owners choose to fully remove them for a minimal appearance. Either of these mods can change the look of your ride for the better. All black trim in particular creates a stern and serious look that matches the rest of this car opposed to shimmery chrome. Plus, black goes with just about everything, and it never goes out of style!
Smoked Emblems
The front and rear Subaru emblems are a bit different since they got tinted. If you want tinted Subaru emblems like this, you can darken them with a tinted overlay like ours which is quick and easy to install.
You can also smoke your emblems which is another method that uses a lightly tinted clear coat to darken the emblem. Both these options are great because they give the emblems a unique look without interfering with the sensors many cars have behind their emblems!
Powder Coated Wheels
At the bottom of this WRX is set of fresh powder coated factory wheels. We decided to keep the original wheel design and upgrade them with a satin black powder coat finish that matched the roof wrap. The process of powder coating allows you to enhance your wheels for cheaper than buying a whole new set and it strengthens their durability.
Although we went with satin black, one of the benefits to powder coating is customizability. We can powder coat in a nearly endless selection of colors and finishes. Whether you’re looking to get a color match to your factory paint, or go with something entirely new, powder coating is a cost friendly way to customize your ride!
Darkened Taillights
Even though the red taillights already fit the color scheme we went with this custom WRX deserved something more daring. To fix that we installed tinted taillight overlays that helps darken them.
Tinted Windows
The final addition on this modified Subaru WRX is window tint. We hit them with some 3M FX Premium Window Tint Film both for the aesthetics and functionality. Tint gets a bad rep sometimes, but it has a lot of great benefits when used properly.
Some practical benefits of window tint are heat reduction, UV protection, increased privacy, and glare reduction. During the hot summer months having tinted windows can help keep your car cooler.
When you go to select your tint, try to keep in mind your local laws so that you don’t get ticketed. We always recommend a professional install for this modification. Poor tint jobs will bubble and discolor over time. Make sure your window tint installer has a good warranty to protect your investment!
