There’s no denying that some people gravitate toward the look of an all black vehicle. Blackouts create a dark aesthetic that has a captivating presence. If you want to add that kind of styling to your 2025 GMC Sierra Denali 1500 there are a few ways you can go about it. For this blackout Sierra Denali build we used durable replacement parts as opposed to paint or vinyl.
Chrome Delete Trim
A chrome delete is the way to go if your Sierra has loads of chrome accents. This process either covers or replaces the chrome trim. On the front end of this build you’ll find a bold, full-on blackout Sierra Denali grille unlike the Vader Chrome grille found on the ultimate edition. This is the largest single piece of the chrome delete and drastically changes the look of the truck after install.
Below that black grille is the front bumper accent which sticks out like a sore thumb. The blackout front bumper blends into the front end giving it a sleek streamlined look. When we replaced the bumper the tow hooks next to it were powder coated gloss black to match. Depending on your taste the tow hooks can also be a great spot to add a pop of color. Subtle modifications like this can enhance the trucks styling.
Other front end trim pieces that get the blackout treatment are the fender vents and mirror caps. Black GMC Ultimate edition fender vents and mirror caps have a solid look compared to chrome which makes them appear less slapped on.
More of the blackout trim including door handles, running board trim, and window trim were taken care of in one fell swoop. The chrome delete trim on this blackout GMC truck crafts a cohesive and strong appearance.
The last piece of chrome trim to be replaced is the rear bumper. Our chrome delete rear bumper is completely gloss black alternative that extinguishes the last bit of cheap chrome. Now some of these parts can be painted or wrapped, but replacement parts are more of a permanent solutions. Paint chips and vinyl wears away over time.
Black GMC Emblems
Our chrome delete extends past the trim to the emblems and badging. Exchanging the Denali nameplate lettering along with both the front and the rear GMC emblems. Having a unique emblem drives home that custom appearance removing the stock factory look.
Black Powder Coated Wheels
Many factory wheel designs are loaded with chrome and they be hit or miss in how good they look. With this blackout GMC Sierra we powder coated the wheels gloss black to better fit the trucks appearance. Applying a powder coat finish has some great benefits, but most notably it’s cheaper than a whole new name brand set of wheels.
Using a powder coat finish delivers increased durability with plenty of color options to choose from. It also comes with benefits like better coverage, cost efficiency, and a more environmentally friendly impact.
Tinted Windows
Installing a window tint film on your windows delivers wicked style, but more importantly it has practical benefits. Tinted windows will create privacy and provide protection from harsh UV rays for you and your ride. That window tint even rejects solar energy to help keep your ride cool in the summer. It’s a necessity for blackout vehicles.
Using high quality 3M premium window tint film, we applied a 35% tint on the front windows leaving the back windows at their factory shade. Rear windows are usually darker when they leave factory and don’t always require an additional tint.
When you go to select your tint, you need to keep in mind your local laws so that you don’t get ticketed. We always recommend a professional install for this modification. Poor tint jobs will bubble and discolor over time. Make sure your window tint installer has a good warranty to protect your investment!
