A little over a year ago Chevy reached into their archives and revived the Blazer namesake. The all new Blazer presents itself as a sporty crossover, with sleek, aggressive styling elements.
We got a hold of this 2021 Blazer RS and decided to give it the blackout treatment. The RS trim level already comes with a surprising amount of black accent pieces (such as the emblems), but we wanted to take it up a notch!

Roof Wrap
Starting from the top, we applied a gloss black roof wrap to the top of this Blazer. Roof wraps are a relatively small addition that can really amplify the styling of any vehicle. It also complements the existing black trim nicely!
When installed professionally vinyl wraps can last in excess of 10 years. That’s pretty good when you consider that most people only own their vehicles for about six years!
Although a roof wrap may just seem like a cosmetic upgrade, they actually do a great job protecting the surface beneath from road debris and fading.
Window Tint
Moving down from the roof, we added some window tint to keep the blackout theme going. Window tint is a great upgrade both visually and functionally. Tint is known to keep your interior cool as well as protect plastics from experiencing UV fading.
When considering tint as an upgrade it is important to know your state’s laws. Most states have some restriction on the level of Visible Light Transmission (VLT) you can have on your car.
Visible Light Transmission is the amount of visible light that can pass through the window film. For example a 50% VLT window tint will only let in 50% of visible light. The lower the VLT the darker the tint.
Powder Coated Wheels
Adding gloss black wheels to the Blazer comes at an additional cost so we powder-coated the stock ones instead. When powder coating it is important to remove all surface imperfections with an abrasive blasting. With a clean slate any color of powder coat can be applied. We went with gloss black to match the roof.
Powder coating can be a great cost saver if you’re looking for black wheels but don’t want to pay for a set of new wheels and tires.
Potential Add-Ons
To add on to the blackout appearance of this 21′ Blazer, a Window Tint Eyebrow could do the trick. Tint eyebrows offer an aggressive look for your windshield while also blocking out the sun on the drive home.
