2.5 Inch Lift
For this build we began with a lift kit (gasp). Yes, you can lift your new 2019 RAV4 and give it an even meaner stance. We used a Rough Country suspension lift kit to crank her up 2.5 inches.
Wheel & Tires
We used those extra inches to wrap our wheels in 27.5 inch Toyo tires. We chose the Open Country A/T tires (245/70R14) for their excellent traction and aggressive tread design.
These surround 17-inch Motegi MR136 wheels in satin black. The six-spoke wheels feature a retro lip design. We love the throwback flair they add to any vehicle, especially a Toyota.
Exterior Appearance
We painted the mirror caps and antenna in a matching satin black, then installed an extended roof wrap from the A pillar all the way back to the spoiler. We used Avery Supreme wrapping film in matte black to match the satin accents.
We finished the build off with some Suntek window tint film to enhance the driving experience and overall look of the vehicle.
This combination of colors created a very cohesive look that tied everything together.
Possible Additions
This was an unsold unit built for Lou Fusz Toyota in St. Louis, MO so we left some options open to the eventual buyer. You could easily add a black out emblem and nameplate kit to fully embrace the blackout look. You could also add some custom designed Katzkin leather to make the interior as eye-catching as the exterior.
Buying Tips
The 2019 RAV4 touts an offroad aesthetic from the factory, so adding to that theme is a breeze.
If you’re looking to personalize your own, it isn’t a bad idea to use the LE starting trim package.
Starting at the bottom is usually the best option. It gives you more of a budget to work with and you don’t end up paying for parts or features you either won’t use or intend to replace. A great example of this is the wheels.
The LE RAV4 comes with steel rims and wheel covers. The next step up gets you 17-inch alloy wheels, but if you’re looking to get an aftermarket set there’s no reason to pay for this extra cost.
If you are starting with a higher trim level you can still get a custom look without buying a new set of wheels. We recommend powder coating the factory alloys for a more affordable transformation
When you’re ready to upgrade your current RAV4 or upgrade to the new generation RAV4, start a custom quote . We’re ready to help break the factory mold and create a truly unique vehicle.
