We customized this feature packed pickup to fit the style of a client out in Kentucky. Now this custom 2024 Sierra 1500 has a new satin black vinyl wrap, total chrome delete trim, and even more accessory upgrades. Satin Black Vinyl Wrap

Originally this was a gloss black GMC Sierra before our 3M certified techs applied a satin black 3M vinyl wrap over it. Vinyl color change wraps like this will block out the original paint job, but this wrap also changes the finish from gloss to satin. Satin finishes are less reflective and closer in appearance to matte. For a luxury truck like this blackout GMC Sierra 1500 the new finish helps the trim standout creating a bold new look.

Using a vinyl wrap is a cost-effective way of customizing your ride. Wraps come with a couple unexpected benefits as well. While your vehicle has a vinyl wrap its protected from chipping paint that could lead to corrosion. Vinyl wraps offer flexibility and can be removed whenever you want to get a new wrap or go back to the original styling. You can do all that without harming the vehicle. If properly installed, a wrap will last up to 7 years.

Chrome Delete Trim

Although GMC made a vader chrome grille standard for the Sierra Denali Ultimate, they left lots of standard chrome trim. Mismatched trim accents and vader chromes blueish tint just doesn’t create the same look that total chrome delete trim can.

To start our Sierra 1500 chrome delete we replaced the vader chrome grille with one of our custom blackout Sierra grilles for a solid black look. This eliminated any shimmering chrome qualities the tinted vader chrome grille still had.

Beneath the grille is a front bumper accent that for some reason was left chrome by the manufacturer. Using a blackout front bumper accent part we replaced that chrome in a flash. While we had the bumper off we opted to powder coat the tow hooks gloss red for a small color pop. Subtle additions like this can enhance the trucks overall styling.

Following the large blackout trim parts on the front end we replaced the chrome fender vents and mirror caps. Black GMC Ultimate edition fender vents and mirror caps have a better look than the original chrome that matched this new styling. Badging like the Denali nameplate lettering on the side and tailgate were also blacked out along with the rear GMC emblem.

From there we focused on replacing the door handles and window trim with more of our chrome delete Sierra trim. In addition we wrapped the lower step molding to erase that stubborn strip of chrome. The blackout trim on this build creates stronger allure to the vehicle which feels more sophisticated than chincy chrome.

Illuminated GMC Emblem

In the midst of our chrome delete we installed an illuminated GMC emblem on the grille. The soft white glow behind this black GMC emblem draws a lot of attention to this build at night.

Fender Flares

Another way we improved on the existing trim features was by attaching blackout fender flares. These fender flares aren’t bulky like other designs and they match the new chrome delete trim. Overall they add more design accents to the appearance and give it a tougher athletic look.

3.5-Inch Lift Kit

Since our client was out in Kentucky he needed a lift for rough and rowdy backroads out there. To match this trucks sleek styling a 3.5-inch lift kit from Rough Country seemed like the perfect option.

Smaller lifts like this keep it easier to enter and exit while still increasing the ground clearance and overall look. Our client will be able to drive smoothly across rugged road conditions without being too elevated or “flowy.” With the new lift installed our next accessory upgrade would be to improve the wheel and tire set-up.

Off Road Tires

To make sure this custom Sierra 1500 handled well offroad we installed Nitto Ridge Grappler tires. These tires have a solid ridge pattern and well designed grooves to dig up and out of dirt roads. Having 285/55R22 sized tires comes with a touch of rubbing in the corners of the wheel well which had to be remedied.

Black Powder Coated Wheels

Our capable new tires deserved stylish wheels to show off so we powder coated the stock rims gloss black. Powder coating allowed us to blackout the chrome on the wheels without spending a ton on a branded custom set.

Using a powder coat finish is more durable than standard paint with plenty of color options to choose from. It also comes with benefits like higher strength, better coverage, cost efficiency, and a more environmentally friendly impact.

Red Painted Calipers

Painted brake calipers go great with a fresh set of powder coated wheels. They tie together with the red tow hooks on the front and are a great spot to add some personalization. We painted these calipers red, but we’ve had customers do orange, yellow, pink, blue, green, and more.

With brake calipers its crucial to apply a durable and heat resistant paint. They have to deal with a lot of friction, debris, and road chemicals which can all be blocked with a coat of the proper paint.

Borla Exhaust

Another aftermarket accessory that sets this build apart is an upgraded Borla exhaust system. We installed a 6.2L cat-back split rear exhaust that exits through the bumper and delivers improved sound.

Tonneau Cover

Wanting to keep certain cargo protected from the elements and prying eyes, we included a low-profile retractable tonneau cover. If the retractable tonneau bed covers aren’t your speed you could also use a tri-fold or roll-up option.

Interior LED Lighting

On the interior we installed an RGB LED light from Oracle underneath the dash and front seats. We were inspired by the extremely handy exterior bed lighting that the Sierra Denali Ultimate has and wanted to light up the interior. This fun little accessory can change to a variety of colors and different modes that make evening rides a bit more enjoyable. These lights are controlled by a small button on the drivers side about knee level.

The interior of this car in general is incredible! Its soft brown leather has topographic designs on the arm rest and seat. There’s even topographic details on the faux wood accents on the dash. Topped off with Ultimate trim badges and a Bose audio system.

Tinted Windows

Installing a window tint film on your windows delivers wicked style, but more importantly it has practical benefits. Tinted windows will create privacy and provide protection from harsh UV rays for you and your ride.

Using high quality 3M premium window tint film, we applied a 35% tint on the front windows leaving the back windows at their factory shade. Rear windows are usually darker when they leave factory and don’t always require an additional tint.

When you go to select your tint, you need to keep in mind your local laws so that you don’t get ticketed. We always recommend a professional install for this modification. Poor tint jobs will bubble and discolor over time. Make sure your window tint installer has a good warranty to protect your investment!

Ceramic Coating

Finally we applied a ceramic coating for an extra layer of protection. Our Ceramic Solutions formula bonds to paint or vinyl forming a chemical bond that helps to repel dirt and grime while resisting chemical damage. These coatings are perfect because they make your car super easy to clean, so it takes less effort to clean off your ride!
