The 2021 Subaru Crosstrek comes from the factory with some changes from the 2020 model year. The most notable change being an increase in horsepower from 152 to 182. Said increase in horsepower means we can throw more accessories on this beast!
New for 2021 is also rugged new styling updates to the front fascia that complement the angular design elements of the Crosstrek. We enhanced these design elements with upgrades from LP Aventure, Go Rhino, and more!

Wheel Package
To start things off on this Crosstrek we added a set of 15×7″ Method 701 matte black wheels. These are made out of a solid A356 aluminum which keeps these bad boys light and super strong!
Wrapping the Method wheels is a set of Cooper Discoverer AT3 4S rubber. The Discoverer AT3 4S comes with Adaptive Traction Technology to give you grip on any surface, no matter how severe the conditions may be. They also come with a 45-Day test period for added peace of mind!
Lift Kit
To fit the wheels and tires under this Crosstrek we opted for a 1.5 inch lift kit from, you guessed it, LP Aventure. This lift kit doesn’t alter the original alignment of the Crosstrek, and doesn’t interfere with its electronic stability control sensors. All of this keeps the Crosstrek handling just as Subaru intended it to, but with the addition of some extra suspension travel for the trails!
This may not sound like much but many lifted vehicles have a “floaty” feel to them after the lift is installed. With this kit you don’t get that floaty, high off the ground feel.
Rock Slider
Moving slightly north of the wheels and tires and you’ll notice the LP Aventure Rock Sliders. We’re big fans of LP Aventure products on all of our Crosstrek builds because they offer unique styling without skipping out on protection.
We ordered our set in a matte black finish but for extra customization you can even order these in a bare finish. A set of body color matched rock sliders could be a unique look.
Front Bumper Guard
Arguably the star of this 2021 Subaru Crosstrek is the LP Aventure Bumper Guard. Not only does this bumper guard offer a look all its own, but it also provides a ton of protection for the front bumper of this Crosstrek. This bumper guard pairs nicely with the rock sliders, and they also come in a powder coated matte black or bare finish. We opted for matte black to match the rock sliders.
It’s important to note that LP Aventure states that the Bumper Guard is meant to fit the 2018-2020 Crosstrek, but we had no issues installing this one on our 2021 Subaru Crosstrek.
One of the best features of the guard is that you can attach several different styles of lighting if you want. For this application we opted for a Superbright LED’s 20″ curved light bar. In the past though we’ve used round style lights as shown on this 2021 Subaru Crosstrek build.
Roof Basket
The cherry on top to this 2021 Crosstrek is the Go Rhino SR40 roof basket. We’re big fans of the SR40 because of its tubular steel construction. The size and ease of installation are also nice features of Go Rhino’s roof baskets.
The SR40 roof basket also comes with four light cube cutouts which we filled with four 2-inch cube lights from Rough Country. The additional luggage and lighting offered by the SR40 make it an awesome addition to any off-road build!
Window Tint
For enhanced privacy and style we added our 3M FX premium window tint. We’ve recently made the switch to only trusting 3M for our window tint needs. We now offer 3M FX Premium and Ceramic IR films. Both films have the same features but the Ceramic IR has a higher energy rejection.
