Maybach has been a prestigious brand in the automotive world since the early 1900’s, so it’s no surprise that this GLS fits the category. But why settle for a look that doesn’t stand out from the rest?
From the painted exhaust tips to the blackout Maybach badge up front, we gave this SUV a total blackout appearance!

Wheels & Brake Calipers
Starting off this Maybach GLS build we opted to powdercoat the factory multi-spoke 22’s gloss black. This upgrade alone really makes the Obsidian Black metallic paint on this Maybach pop! If you want a custom look without shelling out thousands for new wheels, powdercoating is a great option.
To match the freshly coated wheels we also treated the brake calipers to a high-heat-resistance gloss black finish. Painted calipers often go unconsidered when building a custom vehicle. For this customer, even the smallest details were a must-do.
Painted Grille & Ornament
Around the front of this Maybach the narrow flutes on the grille were calling to us for a coat of gloss black paint. We decided to also hit the grille surround and front bumper trim to complete the #chromekiller appearance up front.
With a completely murdered out front end, the chrome hood ornament stuck out like a sore, chrome thumb. Like the rest of the front end, we gave it a trip to our paint booth for a gloss black finish. Good luck finding another Maybach GLS on the road with a blacked-out hood ornament!
Blackout Trim & Roof Rails
With the front end of this SUV transformed we decided to add the window trim, roof rails, and rocker panel trim to our #chromekiller hit list. Unlike other shops that use wrap film on window and rocker panel trim, we remove and paint the trim piece by piece for a perfect finish.
To match the window and rocker panel trim we also gave the roof rails a treatment of gloss black paint. This completed the blackout package on the body panels of this Maybach GLS.
Painted Exhaust Tip
The last part on this beauty to get an all-inclusive vacation to our paint department was the exhaust tip. With every other chrome / silver part on this SUV painted black. A painted exhaust tip can make or break the overall appearance of your ride if it doesn’t match the overall color scheme.
Complete Ceramic Coating
The finishing touch on this Maybach for complete exterior protection was ceramic coating the entire exterior. Not only does ceramic coating protect your paint from the elements, but it also enhances gloss and depth (which is a huge bonus to this Obsidian Black metallic paint).
