Last weekend dozens of auto manufacturers, clubs, and companies filled America’s Center and The Dome for the Saint Louis Auto Show. Some attendees came for a chance to see the newest technology, some came to shop, but everyone comes to see the cars. We took a break from our booth and walked the convention to capture some of the coolest rides on the show floor.
Many manufacturers showcased all-new models that are just now becoming available to purchase. These are a few of the standouts:
2021 Kia Seltos
The Kia Seltos is said to be coming to dealerships in early February, which is just days away from as of this posting. It sits somewhere between the Soul and Sportage in their lineup, and leaks report it as starting at $21,990. This compact SUV has some impressive styling, with LED marker lights extending all the way into the signature tiger nose grille. It features comfortable headroom and the rear seats can recline, just like the all-new 2020 Ford Escape.
2020 Hyundai Sonata
Hyundai is taking a bold step forward in the evolution of the Sonata. This iteration tries to re-spark the sports sedan market with new technology and distinct styling. You can’t miss the LED marker lights surrounding the headlight and traveling up the hood. The transition into a chrome trim that follows the length of the sedan. It’s a strong styling choice that is sure to be divisive among enthusiasts.
Probably the most notable of the tech it brings to the table is the remote smart parking assist. This allows the car to enter and leave parking spaces remotely. This is highlighted in Hyundai’s “Smaht Pahk” Super Bowl commercial this year.
2020 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray
The 2020 Corvette is the most radical change the American classic has ever had. The all-new mid-engine design has some collectors wringing their hands while others are shaking their wallets. The stark departure from previous designs only carried over one part from the last generation. The aircraft-inspired cockpit is very driver-focused and is a must-see in person.
