The RAM 1500 has become a massive player in the full-size pickup market since their split from Dodge in 2009. Since then, their trucks have become well known for their performance, and competitive price point!
To give this RAM Laramie some extra pep in its step, we loaded it down with tons of offroad accessories, a complete blackout package, and more! All of this combined creates an offroad blackout build any truck enthusiast would dream about!

Offroad Lighting & Chase Rack
Starting with the offroad lighting package we gave this Laramie, the Rough Country LED grille mounts paired with dual 6-inch Cree LED light bars give this RAM a ton of additional visibility. We didn’t stop there though.
In the bed of this RAM we added the Armordillo CR2 chase rack (a favorite around our shop). We paired the chase rack with a super-wide 50-inch light bar from Rough Country. All these lighting accessories help give this RAM no problem seeing on the trails during the night!
Wheel & Tire Package
With lighting out of the way, we moved on to the stance of this RAM. To go offroading, you need bigger tires. When you need bigger tires, you need more ground clearance. To get to the point, we added a 3.5-inch lift kit from Rough Country to increase performance and fit more rubber on this RAM.
For our wheel and tire package we opted for a set of 20-inch Fuel Offroad Trophy D551 wheels, wrapped in Yokohama Geolander A/T rubber (295/65R20). All of this combined allows this RAM to tackle any terrain and look great doing it!
One thing to consider when lifting your vehicle, or even getting bigger tires is entrance height. To make this RAM more accessible we added a pair of Go-Rhino side steps. Running boards like these are a huge help when getting in a lifted truck (especially if it’s your daily driver).
Blackout Emblems & Badges
With all our offroad accessories out of the way, we turned our attention to the emblems and badges. To give this RAM a unique look we transformed each individual emblem / badge on this RAM to a matte black finish. This not only looks great with the truck’s Hydro Blue paint finish, but it also matches our steps and chase rack well!
Blackout emblems & badges are a relatively easy and cost-effective way to start killing the chrome on your ride. You can even pick up blackout emblems & badges and do it yourself if you don’t mind a little elbow grease!
Blackout Package
Beyond the emblems and badges, we also wanted to blackout every inch of chrome on this RAM. To do so, we painted the front bumper cover, grille, and grill bevel matte black. Doing so gave an additional level of cohesion from the rest of our accessories!
We kept the blackout package going by also treating the rear bumper to a textured matte black finish too! To cap it off, we refinished the mirror caps (see what I did there), to round out this blackout RAM in true #chromekiller form.
Partial Vinyl Wrap
With everything else on this truck done in matte black, we figured we ought to show some love with the roof and hood. We gave this RAM a full roof wrap in satin black automotive vinyl with a matching partial hood stripe.
Vinyl graphics are an amazing way to give your vehicle a custom look, while also not making a permanent commitment. This is especially important for when things that once looked good, no longer do. With paint, you’re stuck having to re-spray. If you get tired of your vinyl graphics though, you can just peel them off!
Daily Driver Accessories
Finally, with the offroad accessories bolted on, and our blackout package complete, we turned our focus to a couple daily driver accessories. These are accessories that just make the quality of life in your vehicle a bit better.
For some additional protection, we gave the bed of this RAM a coating of spray in bedliner. Spray in bedliner is great because it doesn’t move around like plastic alternatives, and it helps protect against moisture getting trapped!
Besides spray in bedliner, we also laid some 3M Premium FX window tint to help increase comfort and privacy! Most people don’t consider the positive health benefits that window tint can have (which you can find out more about here).
Potential Addons
With this RAM now fully loaded, it’s hard to come up with many potential addons. Two that could help protect this RAM would be WeatherTech floor liners, and paint protection film. Both helps protect resale value by mitigating stains, and rock chips for example!
